Trauma looks different for everyone - the way your mind and body experiences something painful is unique to you as a person. No one can tell you that your pain is not valid. But traumatic experiences can feel isolating, and can leave you feeling confused, unsafe, and exhausted.
Past traumas can show up in the present in many ways: affecting your health, your work, and your relationships. Anxiety, depression, increased stress, low self-esteem, and mistrust can be responses to trauma. You may find that you spend a lot of energy struggling with your emotions in an effort to cope.
Trauma-focused therapy can help you connect with your inner resources, identify your needs, release unprocessed memories. and guide you towards living a life you value.
Building awareness of your pain helps in your healing from it, which increases your resilience.
That is the art of wisdom.

“We cannot ignore our pain and feel compassion for it at the same time.”
Hello! I'm Sonya.
I provide support to adults who are feeling trapped by emotional pain and want to heal through it so they can discover their authentic selves.
I believe acknowledging and allowing space for difficult emotions can ease the very issues we try to get rid of. We then have more energy to live the life we want instead of the life we were programmed for.
Learning to be self-compassionate and mindfully present is the main focus of therapy with me.
I am trained in EMDR therapy and Acceptance & Commitment Therapy (ACT). I would love to work together on helping you find the inner peace you deserve.
